Inferno
Inferno is a process where a hot blowtorch burns the wood’s surface, removing softer summer growth and highlighting the harder winter growth, accentuating the natural grain. Some pieces are turned to a “sharp” edge, artistic use of the torch gives an uneven organic edge to the piece. Variations in which surfaces are treated add unique character, offering fresh interpretations of each piece’s form and function.
