In the Horizon range, each bowl is turned with sides tapering to a fine edge. After sanding, select surfaces are treated with a blowlamp. This achieves two things: the grain is accentuated as the softer summer growth burns away, and the fine edge catches fire in places, left to smoulder and burn. The result is an organic, uneven edge—unique to every piece.
Note: Made from timber that was rejected at the timber yard because of “flaws” in the grain, the very thing that gives each piece a point of focus and individuality.
